Code 4 Climate
Overview
Code 4 Climate is a two-day hackathon aimed at introducing members to a hands-on experience in developing soft and tech skills by integrating mobile applications enabled with artificial intelligence (AI) to address SDG13 (climate action) and SDG8 (decent work and economic growth).
Sustainability Ambassadors are expected to take on the challenge to code an AI-enabled mobile app that will be presented to the program jury panel and are tasks with identifying existing skill gaps in the green economy, as well as effectively match young people with training and job opportunities in the climate-related sectors.
Objectives
Community building – facilitating networking features that connect young people to mentors, peers, and potential employers in the green economy.
Engagement and motivation – encourage and motivate young people through their career development journey.
Match users with job opportunities – utilize the AI-driven job-matching feature that aligns young users’ skills with interests and suitable job openings in green economy sector.
Inclusive accessibility – ensure the app is accessible to all young people, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Personalized learning paths – ensure young users are equipped with the necessary skills for a career in sustainability.
