Introduction
The Y4S Skill Up app is an educational, self-paced and gamified learning platform aimed at empowering young people aged 15-35 who are passionate about sustainability. The app offers over 72 hours of content covering 14 soft skills across various categories, including knowledge, personal, people, cognitive and design thinking skills, needed to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals of 2030 set by the UN.
Skill Up also enables learners to connect with a global community of sustainability ambassadors and enthusiasts, gaining new capabilities to advance in their workplaces or build their own ventures.

How It Works

Sign up and login
Register and log in to the app by creating a profile that includes details of your educational background and areas of interest in sustainability.

Access content
Once you are logged in, you can access various learning modules. These modules are structured around animated videos, reading materials and interactive content designed to engage and enhance your understanding of sustainability topics.

Engage with activities
Explore the activity sheets and quizzes. These activities are designed to test your knowledge acquired from the learning modules and help solidify the understanding of key concepts.

Improve your skills
Explore our range of soft skills, including knowledge-based, personal, people, cognitive and design thinking skills to prepare you for challenges and opportunities within the green jobs sector.

Join the network
Engage with other sustainability champions from around the world to exchange ideas, discuss sustainability challenges and collaborate on projects.

Track your progress
After completing each module, you will receive certificates of completion. You can also track your progress and receive insights into the skills and knowledge where you have excelled or need to improve on.

The upcoming century challenges of unprecedented complexity. Addressing these will require superior interpretive abilities, critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. This unit focuses on improving your cognitive capabilities by exploring thought process and offering actionable guidance to strenghten these skills.
Innovation often starts with a simple idea, but developing the right idea requires more effort. This unit introduces design thinking, a creative problem-solving approach that has been used to tackle a wide range of challenges - from creating business models for solar panels in Africe to optimizing operations at Airbnb. You'll leran the steps of design thinking, apply them, and how to use this method to devise innovative solutions to solve some of humanity's great issues.
In this unit, you will embark on a transformative journey through a comprehensive course dissecting climate change's regional impact in the MENA region. You'll have the opportunity to unveil the connections between personal actions and global consequences, emhasizing the significance of sustainable practices, as well as navigate pivotal platforms like COP, championing youth participation and community-driven initiatives.
