Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S), a Masdar initiative, will host a dedicated program of youth-focused activities and events at COP28 in Expo City, Dubai, from November 30 to December 12. The Y4S program promotes meaningful, youth-led action on sustainable development and climate change, while amplifying the voices of future sustainability leaders.

The Y4S Hub will include an ‘Out-of-Labs’ workshop, showcasing nine innovation projects developed by UAE-based university students.
Empowering the youth to chart a sustainable future is now a necessity, asserted the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE), noting that the Department has been at the fore for years leading efforts to achieve this strategic objective.

Since its establishment, the UAE has made pioneering efforts to empower and nurture youth, to support the development of society and the economy, and to safeguard the nation’s future. In line with this vision and recognising the importance of developing the next generation of sustainability leaders, Masdar launched its Youth 4 Sustainability platform this year.
